Once Upon a Time
I figured out why “Once upon a time” keeps sticking in our head. It’s how most children’s stories begin. It signifies a time when we wouldn’t have needed such a law.
It tells those children in the Foster Care System, “Once upon a time” there was a girl named Caylee who was murdered and people wanted to make money off her death. Once upon a time things were much simpler and parents wouldn’t have even considered killing their child and not reporting her dead.
In years to come when you and I are no longer… Parents will tell their children, “Once upon a time” a little girl touched so many hearts around the world that a law was created for every child.
So close you eyes sweet child and do not fear We The People are always right here.
